I love to be positively surprised, and so I became, when Warwick Avenue cancelled their support job for Boat Man Love due to illness among the band members. Only four days prior to this concert in Pumpehuset Davenport was asked to take over.
Very often the support band is something you merely want to get through to hear the main band, for which you came. But for me it was a welcome pleasure to hear Davenport, the excistance of which I didn't know before this night.
The band played in the traditional rock tradition, and several times I was reminded on the 1970's Dylan. I especially noticed the brilliant keybordplayer, who added some quality piano parts to the songs. The frontsinger reminded me a little about Jens Unmack from Loveshop.
