Källing
Offbeat Showcase at Rust, Copenhagen
18. January 2007

On a Thursday night in January Offbeat held a Showcase with some of their upcoming bands. This night the Off The Record Show had Forest & Chrispian (Sweden), Breum, Jøden, Turbuweekend, The Elephants and Källing on the bill. Unfortunately the event started after the clock had past 10 P.M., which meant that I only managed to see the three opening bands, to be able to catch the last train!

I only knew Källing from the most recent GAFFA sample cd, which contained the charming song, Coco Bar, which made me attend this event at Rust. Källing's lead singer, Tine, sings very similar to Marie Kay from Marie Kay Band. Unfortunately we didn't get this song, but a handful of other equally charming and uncomplicated songs. The audience obviously seemed to have expected some more uptempo songs, as the band before them (Forest & Crispian) had performed a very energic
set of songs. So it was hard task to follow them.
But I like the kinda naive songs from this upcoming band.

Källing release their debut album, Sød Musik" on 29. January 2007 and you can read more about them here.
