This
time I saw Maria and her fantastic band at
KulturHavn at Islands Brygge in Copenhagen. Maria
had played at the opening event two days before (one song
only: Homeward Bound). But this Saturday afternoon
she was backed by a reduced band, as the keyboardplayer, Philip,
was occupied with another job. So the sound was different
compared to a full band backing. Though I prefer the keyboard
included, Maria's brother, Jacob,
proved how excellent a guitarist he is - playing in the old
60's rock-guitar tradition, - Dylan/Band fashion.
Instead we got Kaspar Vig on additional vocals
and harmonica. It was only his second time at stage with the
band, as he joined their very first supporting job. But he
contributed to Maria's most overseen debut album,
Burn The Bridge, where he sang in the choir
on Guess You Are Mad At Me and Homeward
Bound, and the harmonica on Ocean Of Tears.
After the short set, I made a couple of "back-stage"
portraits of Maria, which can be viewed at the
bottom of this side.
