Although I heard Monique for the first time at her debut performance as a solo artist at Kridthuset on 7. May 1992, the concert in Tivioli was the first time, I had my camera with me. I enjoyed the concert from a distance, so I didn't get many shots. Furthermore it was only a small tourist camera without a tele-zoom lens, so at this my first shooting of Monique, the result turned out rather meagre. But during the encore, Monique invited the audience up front, so I got a few shots from a closer position.
This performance was the closing concert on the Shadows Promotion Tour 1992, and Monique and the band seemed very much to enjoy being on stage that evening. Afterwards I met Monique backsstage for the first time, and I remember that I was astonished to see how sweet she was, taking her time to talk to each of the attended fans and giving her autograph to everybody who requested for it. Already then I discovered that Monique is a very warmhearted and a loveable person. Fortunately I have been so lucky to meet her many times during the following years, and today I consider Monique to be a good friend very close to my heart.
