If you like Dylan/The Band 1965, Steve Forbert, Boan Man Love and the early Bruce Springsteen you'll love Kaspar Vig and his band of talented musicians called Silver City. There's not much new or fancy fashion about this band, playing as if the past fourty years have never exicted! I say this as a praise.

Amazing to find a band whose songwriting and performance is based on the old and pure rock traditions. It's hard to imagine that they shall ever reach the top charts, - their music is simply not commercial enough. But how I love this band and especially Kaspar Vig's passionate and straight away performance.

Jacob Viskinde is among the best guitarists in Denmark and the choir adds to the mood of Bob Dylan 1978. Jacob and the drummer, Anders Lund, also plays in the exciting new band, The Amaranths, carrying on the qualities of the 1960's music tradition.
I can't recomment enough to give Silver City a listen!

I became aware of Kaspar Vig's talent at a songwriters event also at Lades Kælder last year (see my photos from this event here). I decided to help this gifted young man with his promotion and we made a promotion photo series in November 2006 (see the photos here).

"The band started in March 2006. Kaspar had just returned home from the homeland of country and folk, USA. The name Silver City gives us associations to the overwhelming big city, where winners and losers play the everlasting game of survival. Or to the slow, small village where everybody knows each other, where the world outside is enchanting and where the urge of travel is big. Silver City is deeply inspired by the American music from the twenties to the seventies, which gives them a unique sound that combines folk, rock and country. With a mainly acoustic sound Silver City moves from energetic country to the storytelling folk."
