Tina Dickow
Falkonersalen, Copenhagen
13. December 2006

When I made my first live-on-stage photosession of Tina Dickow in Tivoli on 23. June 2006 (see here), I was only allowed to make photographs during the three opening songs.
So this night I had hoped to get access to the entire concert at Falkonersalen. Negative! Again the permission only applied for the first three songs, and this time only from the right stage side, right beside the hall entrance! The fact that the first song was performed in complete darkness meant that there were only two songs during which to work! Rest of the pictures had to be taken from the 25th row!
So hadn't I sneeked up front at the encore songs, I wouldn't have had many photos to display from this marvellous event.

I wondered how it was possible for Tina to create an intimate atmosphere in this huge hall with maybe 2.500 people. But she did! Even in the acoustic solo songs she managed to pull all the attention on her excellent performing. Never did I experience so much concentration and silence at a concert from this large audience!

I believe Tina Dickow to be the greatest Danish solo performer of our time. Only Randi Laubek reaches her stage. Tina Dickow is the most relaxed and chraismatic Danish stage performer I know. You'll never find any sign of rock star diva attitudes in her. The prove of a true artist. She does not need any fake attitudes.

The concert went off almost like a ceremony and showed that a rock concert can easily pass on without noisy music and dance rhythms. This concert was almost like a classical music concert.

Tina gave a couple of new songs, not yet on record. If the next album holds this high level of songs, it will turn out great.
For me the first highlight of the evening was the beautiful On The Run, backed by some fascinating accompaniment by the gutarist and the keyboard player. The second highlight was Tina's marvellous version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, song in Danish with Steffen Brandt's lyrics. This last song was done as a request from the audience.
(See my photos from the concert at Viften 14. December 2006 here).

Many thanks to Tina for putting me on the guest list.
