I had met Julie once before, on 16. March 2003, at the Melanie C showcase at Aveny-T in Copenhagen (see People I Met). Already at that occation I told her that I admired her for her beautiful voice and that I bought her album soon after its release. I gave her my card and asked for her permission to make some live photos of her, which she permitted. So it should take four and a half months before I got the possibility to execute this permission.

I must say that even if I ejnoy her often played album, Julie's live performance completely cought me by surprise! She appeared to be a super professionel performer, - I must admit much better than I had expected! I know it has absolutely nothing to do with the music, but I can't help to notice how nice it was to see a real woman performing at stage - not some skinny photo model! Julie not only looked wonderfully, her voice was a marvel of joy to listen to.

We got 9 songs from Julie's debut album, 2 cover versions of songs by Eurythmics (Thorn In My Side was one of the highlights of the evening!) and 3 unrecorded songs, one of them being in Greenlandic!)

I met Julie again at the Zulu Award Show (see my portrait of her here), and she is not only a great gifted singer, a pretty Woman, but she's also a complete down-to-earth and sweet person.
